RESULTS FROM NO EXCUSES AND THE WEAVER CUP QUARTER FINALS
With the Weaver Cup Tournament in disarray after injuries to Ray Kandrack and Jesse Adler, CWF returned to the Mid-Atlantic Sportatorium on Saturday July 23 for the tournament quarter finals.
1.) “SIS” def. ASPYN ROSE in a women’s match
ETHAN A. SHARPE was out to gloat about his automatic bye in the 2016 Weaver Cup Tournament. He was interrupted by CWF official WILLIAM L. CROSS who gave a passionate speech about how he started the Weaver Cup in 2004 and he would not let the shenanigans of Sharpe and the Coach stand. After announcing that RAY KANDRACK was forced to withdraw from the tournament due to injury and that JESSE ADLER would need knee surgery, Cross voided Sharpe’s bye in the quarter-finals. It was announced that the two survivors of a six man scramble match would advance in the tournament to the two slots previously occupied by Sharpe’s bye and Kandrack.
2.) JOSHUA CUTSHALL pinned SLADE PORTER to win a Six Way Scramble bout that also included DONNIE DOLLARS, SNOOTY FOXX, “HIM” and CHIP DAY, who was the other survivor along with CUTSHALL thus earning a spot in the quarter-finals.
3.) Rising Generation League Champion MACE MAEDA with COACH GEMINI def. DIRTY DADDY in another disputed finish due to Coach’s outside interference. After the bout, Dirty Daddy challenged Maeda to one last match for the championship on Sat Aug 13, vowing to settle things the way they did in the territory days — loser leaves town!
4.) Mid-Atlantic Tag-Team Champions AARON BIGGS & MECHA MERCENARY destroyed NUMBER MAN & NUMBER BOY of #Moneyball. The champs were then confronted by ZANE & DAVE DAWSON *and* TEAM IOU. Biggs and Mecha stayed at ringside to watch the next bout.
5.) ZANE & DAVE DAWSON def. KERRY AWFUL & NICK IGGY of Team IOU in an amazing tag-team war. Afterwards, officials had to pry the Dawsons and the champs apart.
6.) CHET STERLING def. TRACER X. After the bout, Sterling asked CWF matchmaker BRAD STUTTS to reinstate LEE VALIANT and offered to fight Valiant at Weaver Cup Finals Night on Sat Aug 13.
7.) Worldwide Television Champion ARIC ANDREWS def. “WHITE” MIKE JORDAN in the quarter-finals of the 2016 Johnny Weaver Cup Tournament.
8.) ARIK “ACE” ROYAL def. CHIP DAY in the quarter-finals of the 2016 Johnny Weaver Cup Tournament.
9.) SMITH GARRETT def. JOSHUA CUTSHALL in the quarter-finals of the 2016 Johnny Weaver Cup Tournament.
Before the main event began, former Mid-Atlantic Heavyweight Champion BRAD ATTITUDE entered the ring with a live microphone and made comments not suitable for publication directed toward the staff, wrestlers and fans of CWF Mid-Atlantic. CWF Mid-Atlantic does not share the views expressed by Brad and we all apologize for any offended by his remarks.
10.) NICK RICHARDS def. ETHAN ALEXANDER SHARPE in the quarter-finals of the 2016 Johnny Weaver Cup Tournament. Richards survived an attack before the match from Brad Attitude that at one had the bout in question with many fearing Sharpe would again advance via forfeit before Richards rallied to fight on and win.
